The Facades We Hide Behind
Babies never wear clothes. Most of the time, they just lie there naked. As they grow up, however, they start to cover themselves up. In fabric. In masks. In shame. The teen years usually emphasize this little fact extremely clear. The signs are evident even during childhood. Rarely do people manage to muster enough confidence within themselves without going through many obstacles that truly test their self-esteem. That is why many tend to conceal their true face behind the facade that society admires more. As they grow up, however, they become more in tune with who they really are. They begin to realize what they want and their place in life. Encountering this epiphany is a like a drink of fresh water after years in the dessert. It is that day when our life truly begins.
